The Department of Civil Engineering was created in 1989, transformed into an institute in 1992 by the ministerial decree N ° 92/299 of August 07, 92 then in department by the decree N ° 806/806 of December 12, 2001, since 24/06 / 2010 became department of civil engineering and hydraulics by ministerial order N ° 200.
Civil Engineering represents all the techniques of civil constructions. Trained students are responsible for the design, construction, operation and rehabilitation of construction works and urban infrastructure that they manage to meet the needs of society, while ensuring public safety and the protection of the environment. Their varied accomplishments are mainly divided into five main areas of intervention: structures, geotechnics, hydraulics, public works, and the environment.
The training in Hydraulics aims at acquiring to the students the theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Hydraulics in general, the follow-up and the coordination of the works of hydraulics, the management of the networks of AEP and sanitation, the treatment of drinking water and sewage treatment.
